June 27th marks one year since Cedar & Thread — Granville, Ohio's newest women's boutique — opened its doors, and I honestly don't have the words to describe what this year has meant to me.
A Dream That Started Right Here in Granville
When I dreamed up this little shop, I hoped it would become a place where women felt seen. A place where you could walk into a women's clothing boutique in a small Ohio town and find pieces that actually felt like you — not like everyone else. Where you could try on something that made you feel like yourself, and leave with a little more joy than you came in with.
What I didn't fully expect was how much you would give back to me.
The regulars who've become friends. The women who've popped in just to say hi. The customers who've texted me photos wearing Cedar & Thread pieces at weddings, birthdays, and Sunday dinners. You have made this boutique what it is — and I don't take that lightly for even one second.
What a Year of Small Business Ownership Teaches You
This first year has taught me so much. About running a small business in a small town, yes — but more than that, about community. About what it means to show up for each other. About the magic that can happen in Granville when someone believes in something enough to try.
Shopping small isn't just a hashtag. It's a relationship.
