NORDIC PONY BUTTON DOWN CARDIGAN

Two folk-art ponies stand face to face across the front of a soft, cream knit. A scatter of snowflakes and zigzag bands run along the shoulders, hem, and cuffs. The ponies and pattern are knit in warm caramel, and the wood-tone buttons add to the cabin-at-Christmas feel. It’s a little country, and very much made for the holidays.

The shape is easy and relaxed. It has a collared neckline, a button front, dropped shoulders, and long sleeves, and it falls just past the waist with a ribbed hem. Button it all the way up and wear it as a sweater, or leave it open over a fitted tee.

Wear it with a denim skirt and tall boots for a holiday party, or with jeans and a fleece-lined vest for a morning at the barn. It’s a piece you’ll pull out every December for years.
